Why This Matters!

I am in the firm belief that we should think AND act globally! In tackling the problem of global poverty, we have to stop the viscous cycle of under-educated labor forces one child at a time. I was greatly moved by the success stories of Casa Esperanza "graduates" going on to productive careers as doctors and lawyers. I really see the betterment of these children as a first-step in breaking this cycle.

These children have been abandoned close to the US Border by parents that could no longer see to their needs due to their own lack of education and lack of economic opportunities. I wanted to redo the floors of their orphanage to help improve their quality of life. I also reached out to my local community to help get others involved in helping the children of Casa Esperanza by donating money and items they need. This is the first step in helping them.

Just because these children are not down the block from us, does not mean that they don't matter. They do matter and they're worthy of our full attention,
